We provide fast, remote clinical assessments that help employers support safe, practical returns to work.

At Return Well, we help employers, HR teams and care homes manage sickness absence with clear, practical return-to-work assessments delivered by qualified UK clinicians. Our service is built for situations where mental health, MSK conditions, long-term sickness, burnout, failed returns or workplace adjustments need specialist input. We match each case with the right clinician, then manage the process from referral through to a structured report. Assessments are carried out remotely by video or telephone, making support easier to access across the UK. Our reports focus on what an employee can realistically manage at work, with fitness-for-work opinions, functional assessment, phased return planning, risk considerations and practical recommendations for managers. We keep the process straightforward, secure and confidential, with no contracts, no hidden fees and pay-per-case pricing. We are here to give employers timely clinical clarity while keeping people, care and common sense at the centre of the return-to-work journey.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the whole process take?
We usually complete most cases within 10 to 15 working days from submission through to report delivery.
What's included in the report?
We include a clinical summary, a fitness-for-work assessment, specific return-to-work recommendations, relevant clinical observations and practical guidance such as phased return, adjusted duties or reasonable adjustments. Confidential clinical notes are not included.
Does the employee have to consent?
Yes. We require employee consent before a case can proceed, and the clinician confirms consent again at the start of the assessment.
Is there a minimum commitment?
No. We do not require retainers, subscriptions or minimum volumes, so employers can submit cases as and when they need support.
